They wouldn't. If you would write a question in gpc, which was already
answered in gpc-de or gpc-fr or something like this, 
those who read both lists would answer :-)

I agree. 
Without mailing lists in native languages, Linux wouldn't have
become such large. IMHO, we should try this out.
