Bug in the x11 framedriver

Hi, now that Maurice is maintaining GRX this can be of interest: After a security update in xorg 7.2 (CVE 2007-1667 see http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg-announce/2007-April/000286.html), the x11 mgrx driver stopped showing the mouse cursor. The problem was in the x11 bitblt ram to video function. We had a bug here. I have released a new, patched, mgrx version (see http://www.fgrim.com/mgrx/). I think it can apply to grx too. With respect to the more than three years old grx 2.4.6 it contains, besides various corrections/improvements sent to the list support for x86_64 compilers (basically a backport from MGRX) ....... DGA2 driver for linux/X11 SDL driver (both by Dimitar Zhekov) The last driver works both in linux/x11 and win32/mingw32 systems It works both in full screen and in windowed modes, selected at run time either by setting GRX20DRV="sdl::fs" resp. "sdl::ww" or by program by using GrSetDriver(): see test/fswwtest.c This driver is compiled separately from a special section of makedefs.grx, giving libraries libgrx20S which can coexist with libgrx20 (resp libgrx20X) on a given system: mingw (resp x11), and then be selected at link time of the application programs. I have uploaded this preview in the "more things" section of the GRX page. preview 3 mainly included x86_64 support and corrections to pascal preview 4 includes various corrections to the win32 driver found on the list and the SDL driver of Dmitar Zemkov (rc4). makefile.sdl/makedefs.grx/configure have been cleaned up and include pascal support. The spirit is the same: an independent SDL compilation section for both win32 and X11 systems, distinguished by an "execution prefix" EP= or EP=x in makedefs.grx, or two targets sdlw and sdlx in the configure script. The library is named grx20S.a in both cases to enable to have both the SDL and the normal win32 or x11 driver in the same system. When finished, I realised that it would have been more consistent to include the sdl driver just as an other driver in the win32 and x11 systems. May be next time. I have to see if there are conflicts. I would appreciate some feedback before creating the 2.4.7 official version. In particular I work on Linux only through either a vncserver/vncviewer combination or through a ssh (putty) / xterm (X-Win32) combination, from a distant PC running either win98se or winXP, never directly on the target linux machines (4 processors x86_64 machines which run Fedora Core 5 or 6). svgalib and grx

Hi All, I my new to the grx, I just download grx246 and compiled it for linux(console) svgalib and installed it on my Redhat enterprise 4 WS,Then tired some examples in /opt/grx246/test dir all the demo works fine except pngtest,jptest when i run ./pngtest or ./demogrx after clicking the pngtest it runs , but it never comes back to console (tty) , I have installed libpng,libjpeg,libtiff,libsvga and enabled in makedeps.grx, can some please point where i went wrong, i have compiled it on gcc-3.4, glibc-2.3.4,svgalib-2.4. I have added this but it does not help. I then comment "mouse IMPS2" line but it does not help too. I assume svgalib doesn't need to be recompiled to the changes take effect. Mouse conflict with svgalib

Hi. I'd like to use mouse in my program. I've compile GRX 2.4.6 with: USE_DIRECT_MOUSE_DRIVER=y USE_SVGALIB_DRIVER=y USE_FRAMEBUFFER_DRIVER=y Mouse in mousetest works fine. But when I compile my program: gcc -o chess chess.c -lgrx20 -ljpeg -lpng -lvga and run, it crash when I moved the mouse. Any idea what's wrong? Thanks in advance. Jacek
